However, that is not to say that it is an idea which is merely consigned to the past. It is not something that Buddhists once believed but have since abandoned for new paradigms of how one might now, in our modern times, progress along the path. Rather, buddha-nature remains a key feature of many of the Buddhist traditions that exist today. It is at once an essential pedagogical device, utilized to inform us of our inherent potential for enlightenment, and the very the substrate upon which the path to enlightenment is traversed. Thus, for those Buddhist traditions that have embraced the notion of buddha-nature, it is simultaneously a tool and a truth, which remains as practical and relevant to modern seekers as it was to those who lived in the distant past. <div class="text-right zoom-80"> </div> 2019-11-19T20:06:29Z 2458807.3378357 2025-01-14T21:44:13Z 2460690.405706 false Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature 0 200 0 template 1 [[:Media/Shenpen Hookham at the 2019 Tathāgatagarbha Symposium]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERY8113e7292eb0dfd8e1de2bbe084b705d 0 200 0 template 1 [[:Media/Buddhism: One Teacher, Many Traditions: Chapter 14: Buddha Nature: A Talk by Thubten Chodron (Part 1 of 4)]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERYb0b7c1ffa6a2755f5df5535366d4c35d 0 200 0 template 1 [[:Media/Ken Holmes on Buddha Nature]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERYdd63abe916b7108972076c10d1456506 0 200 0 template 1 [[:Media/Lama Tsering: We Are Frozen 1 of 2]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERY531d15ff1ed94ad026b65fb24e9453e4 0 200 0 template 1 [[:Media/Dealing with Depression: Interview with Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo on Study Buddhism]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERYbbd366e8fc85e26945445a2b5c70100a 0 200 0 template 1 [[:Media/Buddha Nature and Permission: Anne Klein at Dawn Mountain]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERY9428cc9616c74b1b4c0415f28da03b9c 0 0 plainlist 1 [[:Dilgo Khyentse Tashi Paljor]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERY9b7092e6b64d41adae621ec46aee4cc8 0 0 plainlist 1 [[:Dudjom Jikdral Yeshe Dorje]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERY5495e6812ea01dbbdc8a592e15c36acf 0 0 plainlist 1 [[:Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERY4c97699821b5f9f912a49f5ba255f110 0 0 plainlist 1 [[:Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERY92922c1e8eee43a5115d8f07e9ece482 0 0 plainlist 1 [[:Lama Tharchin Rinpoche]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERY3df2070f21adf5ebb645b18c2bb06ae9 0 0 plainlist 1 [[:Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERY0344768a31db02ca4a30d6a2504e3a97 0 0 plainlist 1 [[:Thrangu Rinpoche]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERYb58185bb201dce21ed57ff34738fc059 0 0 plainlist 1 [[:Dzongsar Khyentse]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERY01a81f9834ca973e37465fdbb8f57082 0 0 plainlist 1 [[:Matthieu Ricard]] Contemporary Masters on Buddha-Nature# QUERYf31a5c93367f29527ee268cedfd9cb37
