རྣམ་གྲངས་མཁྱེན་པས་དེ་རྟོགས་པ་སེམས་ཅན་གྱི་སེམས་ཀྱི་སྤྱོད་པ་ཟབ་མོ་སྣང་བ་ནི་ཀུན་བརྗོད་པའི་ཆོ་འཕྲུལ་ལོ།

It should be understood that a brief instruction on these four aspects P130a) [is given] in due order by the [following] four verses.

The great sounds of the drums in heaven

Do not reach the hearing of those dwelling on earth,

But the sound of the drum of the perfect Buddha

Reaches [even] those in the lowest region of saṃsāra. IV.37

In heaven, the many myriads of divine cymbals

Sound [only] for the sake of kindling the flame of desire,

But the single voice of those whose character is compassion

Manifests for the sake of pacifying the cause of the fire of suffering. IV.38 (J104)

The beautiful and pleasing sounds of the cymbals in heaven

Are the causes for increasing mind’s agitation,

But the voice of the magnanimous tathāgatas

Encourages the intention of entrusting the mind to samādhi. IV.39

In brief, what is the cause of happiness in [all]

Infinite worldly realms, the celestial and the earthly,

Is stated with reference to this voice that appears

Pervasively in all worlds without exception. IV.40

That the [Buddha] pervades all worldly realms in the ten directions without exception through assuming various physical forms indicates "the miraculous display of miraculous powers." (D124b) That he illuminates the impenetrable mental conduct of all the sentient beings who belong to these [worlds] through his wisdom of [knowing all] ways of the mind is "the miraculous display of pointing out." That he gives instructions and directions about the path that is conducive to deliverance through the utterances of his voice is "the miraculous display of advice."

eṣāṃ khalu caturṇām ākārāṇāṃ yathāsaṃkhyam eva caturbhiḥ ślokaiḥ samāsanirdeśo veditavyaḥ /

śabdā mahānto divi dundubhīnāṃ kṣitisthiteṣu śravaṇaṃ na yānti /

saṃsārapātālagateṣu loke saṃbuddhatūryasya tu yāti śabdaḥ // 37 //

bahvyo ’marāṇāṃ divi tūryakoṭyo nadanti kāmajvalanābhivṛddhau /

ekas tu ghoṣaḥ karuṇātmakānāṃ duḥkhāgnihetupraśamapravṛttaḥ // 38 //

śubhā manojñā divi tūryanisvanā bhavanti cittoddhativṛddhihetavaḥ /

tathāgatānāṃ tu rutaṃ mahātmanāṃ samādhicittārpaṇabhāvavācakam // 39 //

samāsato yat sukhakāraṇaṃ divi kṣitāv anantāsv api lokadhātuṣu /

aśeṣalokaspharaṇāvabhāsanaṃ praghoṣam āgamya tad apy udāhṛtam // 40 //

kāyavikurvitena daśadigaśeṣalokadhātuspharaṇam ṛddhiprātihāryam iti sūcitam / cetaḥparyāyajñānena tatparyāpannaṃ sarvasattvacittacaritagahanāvabhāsanam ādeśanāprātihāryam / vāgghoṣodāharaṇena nairyāṇikīṃ pratipadam ārabhya tadavavādānuśāsanam anu śāstiprātihāryam /
