Tsadra Foundation will host a three-day symposium for scholars and monastics of Tibetan Buddhist traditions at Shechen Monastery in Kathmandu, June 1-3. This special event will bring together representatives of different Tibetan Buddhist traditions to share their views on buddha-nature and related texts, theories, and practices. As of today we have 18 speakers from across the Himalayas, including representatives from different Geluk, Nyingma, Kagyu, and Sakya institutes, as well Jonang.
The event will be hosted at Shechen Monastery, entirely in the Tibetan language. We will record each presentation and hope to provide some translation into English in the future, but the majority of the content will be in the Tibetan language. If you are living or studying in Kathmandu, or are traveling through, please feel free to attend! But do register here so we can estimate tea and lunch.
Sessions will also be live-streamed on Zoom.

INTRODUCTION
Buddha-nature is a common theme among all Mahāyāna Buddhist traditions, a topic discussed in many sūtras, tantras and treatises, and at the core of many philosophical theories and spiritual practices. Given this significance, the Tsadra Foundation has created a web resource on buddha-nature and continues to hold conversations on this topic with international scholars and practitioners in English.
The Buddha-Nature conference in Kathmandu brings together monastic scholars and masters from different Tibetan Buddhist traditions to discuss the topic, its philosophical theories, practices and related texts. We hope to broadcast the proceedings on Zoom and Facebook and also make recordings available to a wider audience, and thereby help spread the message of buddha-nature across the world.
